General Event Info

Under the auspices of the New Zealand Clay Target Association, the clay pigeon shooting 2011 World Championship event is being held over 4 – 6 February 2011 at the property of Thames Valley Deerstalkers Association, 101 Morrison Road, Paeroa, New Zealand.

Friday 4th

Will be the Official Practice Day enabling shooters to also leisurely view the grounds, take in the awesome atmosphere and meet some of the team of club members and workers who will be making this event possible. Practice targets will all be shot from different stands/layouts to the actual competition. Pool shoots will also be running for the duration of Friday.

Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th

Competitors will shoot 100 targets each day on different fields with each field comprising of 14 stands.  The magnificent views on the grounds will only be equalled by the superb targets ensuring excellent scores and wonderful shooting opportunities for everyone.

Final – Sunday afternoon 6th

A 25 target final will be shot using a completely new layout on challenging targets – a spectacle that all can enjoy as it will be held right at the heart of the venue. The winner will most certainly be a very deserving World Champion but they will be pushed all the way to the end in securing this prestigious title.

 

Pre-Worlds Prize shoot – Thursday 3rd February

This will be contested for over 75 targets on a Compak/5 Stand layout at the club and Championship grounds. Further details of start times etc. will be added here in due course, but this is to confirm that there will definitely be a 'pre event' on 3 February 2011.

 

Shoot 500 International Sporting Targets in 10 days.....

The World English Sporting Championships are being held the weekend following the New Zealand Clay Target Association (NZCTA) North Island and NZ National FITASC Sporting Clay Championships being held in Rotorua. This will make for a wonderful week of sporting clay shooting here in New Zealand, as the Rotorua and Paeroa venues are only 1 ½ hours drive apart.
